Gait Training

Gait training is a specialized physiotherapy approach focused on improving an individual's ability to walk safely, effectively, and independently. It is commonly used for patients recovering from neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, muscle weakness, or balance impairments. The goal is to restore normal walking patterns and reduce the risk of falls or further injury.

Physiotherapists begin with a detailed gait analysis to assess various aspects of walking mechanics—such as step length, cadence, posture, joint movements, and weight distribution. Based on this assessment, targeted interventions are designed to correct abnormal gait patterns and address compensatory movements caused by pain, deformities, or imbalances.
